Can Retailers Keep Up?

From lack of product availability to a challenging checkout process, there are many steps in the retail landscape that can cause a customer to take his or her business elsewhere, particularly in the digital age. And according to new Salesforce data, that abandonment can ultimately be driven by a retailer’s inability to keep pace. Don’t fall behind, read this piece from Footwear News.

Show Me Your Apps

On August 15th, Einstein Bros. Bagels ran a promotion where customers could receive a free bagel. The catch? To receive the bagel, customers had to show at least one restaurant app downloaded on their smartphone. Starbucks, McDonald’s, Chipotle, whatever, as long as the customer had a restaurant app downloaded they were walking out of Einstein with a free bagel and probably a smile (you’d smile too if you got a free bagel). While Money proclaimed this as the weirdest promotion ever, it’s among a growing trend of restaurants trying to find creative ways to get consumers to download and use their app. Check out our blog on maximizing mobile order data to understand why it’s so important that restaurants keep users engaged with their digital channels.
